Winners 2012
The festival jury has now chosen a winner of the EYE OF ANIMATION 2012 and this year they have decided to point out two extra films and give them a Special mention.
The 1. Prize goes to

'Paamiut - what we want for our town'
Made by Atuarfik Tuiisaq 7.A, Paamiut, Greenland
The 1. prize of 'Eye of Animation' 2012 goes to 'Paamiut' for a film that holds a great enthusiasm. The film is based on the children’s dreams for their own village Paamiut. The children’s 'dreams' has been cut out of cardboard, and thereafter they have been placed on photos from their village. Thus, a village that began with being a bit boring, has turned into a paradise for children, filled up with joyful amusement and room for playing.
The film is characterized with an elegant shift in perspective. When the children enter the living-room, it is shown in birds eye view, and when they leave the living-room again, the film is back in a normal perspective. This makes a good visual variation, which makes the audience attentive.
We specifically point out the children’s good sense of how to make the movements of the figures look realistic. The amusements have a good flow, the right movement and the sound of screaming children; makes it truly alive, and you can almost feel like you were a part of it. We hope that some of their dreams will come true.

'A Ball on a World Trip'

'Ein ball auf Weltreise' receives a 'Special Mention' in 'Eye of Animation' 2012. In the film, you follow a ball, which travels around the world visiting different countries. The cultures, which the ball meets, are shown in an original form. The figures are charming, and it´s obvious that the children, who made the figures, have gained knowledge about the different cultures that they want to express, and they have found the right characteristic for each figure.

'Dyrernes by' receives a 'special mention' in Eye of Animation 2012. The children behind the film have managed to create a film, which is very simple, and at the same time is very clear about the message.
The Jury is impressed by the visual details, such as when the bulldozer pushes away the forest, the big explosion, and when the houses falls down from the sky and like a puzzle transforms into a town.
The film is kept in a humorous style, and is a real 'feel good' film.
